This is my first experiance breast feeding and the weight of my breasts is making it difficult to find a cofortable position. Some positons are even causing headaches. My son is only a week old so I’m just starting to produce more milk, but if we keep this up he will be just as unhappy as I am.
You should probably be awake when you breast feed your kid.

The weight of your breasts should decrease over time. If your milk is just coming in, you are now in the most uncomfortable time of your breastfeeding experience. It won’t last long.
I used to sleep in a sports bra because I found it supportive, yet comfortable. It was pretty easy to just lift it up when I needed to nurse the baby. Headaches can be caused by pressure on your upper back, so try supporting yourself and your baby with pillows if you are nursing sitting up.
no… just find what is comfortable for you… and keep a good bra on for support.
try to sleep as much as possible… maybe a little more upright, maybe even on the couch or a recliner for a little while… I had a Csection and the couch was more comfortable than my bed for a few weeks… both for my scar and for getting up to breastfeed several times in the night.
You should never sleep while breast feeding, but don’t get too upset if it happens. It happens to most of us.
If you want a position lying down that would be easier on both of you, I would try the The Side-Lying Hold Position. My daughter and I like this one a lot. We are both able to lie down, and she likes it since I don’t move at all like I would in the other positions. I am attaching a link that shows different positions along with the one I told you.
